Primarily the villains, here, we get not one but three villains. Basically and most importantly, and this was a similar problem I had with Pirates of the Caribbean:At World's End, it all felt a bit bloated. However, there are a number of things that made it inferior to the first two. I loved JK Simmons as Jameson, in all three Spider-Man movies he stole every scene he appeared in. James Franco is an improvement as Harry, and Bryce Dallas Howard is delightfully photogenic as Gwen Stacey. Topher Grace is great as Brock but underused as Venom, but as Sandman Thomas Haden Church was note perfect and the best developed of the villains. And the acting is very good, Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst are appealing as Peter and Mary-Jane and Rosemary Harris sparkles as Auntie May. The music is excellent, and the direction was efficient enough. The look of the whole film is mind blowing, with splendid special effects, brilliantly choreographed fight sequences and spectacular set pieces. Out of the three films, this one is the best visually. But it is still enjoyable, however I did think the first two were better in terms of plot, characterisation and pacing. Peter has to reach deep inside himself to free the compassionate hero he used to be if he is to ever conquer the darkness within and face not only his greatest enemies, but also.himself.-Dark-Spidey But it also begins to greatly amplify the much darker qualities of Peter's personality that he begins to lose himself to. All hope seems lost when suddenly Peter's suit turns jet-black and greatly amplifies his powers. Peter's old friend Harry Obsourne has set out for revenge against Peter taking up the mantle of his late father's persona as The New Goblin, and Peter must also capture Uncle Ben's real killer, Flint Marko, who has been transformed into his toughest foe yet, the Sandman. But more challenges arise for our young hero. Peter Parker has finally managed to piece together the once-broken parts of his life, maintaining a balance between his relationship with Mary-Jane and his responsibility as Spider-Man.
